Advancing the Welfare of the Community

The Upper Allen Woman’s Club Foundation was established by the Upper Allen Woman’s Club GFWC as its tax exempt arm. The Upper Allen Woman’s Club Foundation works to advance the welfare of the community. The Foundation has funded several library programs, supported the Upper Allen Fire Department, provided playground equipment to Friendship Park, purchased GPS units for the West Shore EMS, and contributed to the local Domestic Violence Services. Annually we also provide several $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.  Other beneficiaries include the Mechanicsburg Museum Association, and numerous charities. The Middle School Female Student Award recognizes young ladies making an effort to be good community members. Most recently, through the Foundation, $10,000 was given to the Joseph T. Simpson Library toward the purchase of a digital signage board and hardware for the main floor of the library.

Are you a MASH senior, parent, grandparent, friend, or neighbor of a MASH senior? The Upper Allen Woman’s Club Foundation Scholarship application has just been released. This year the club is awarding two $2,500 scholarships to 1) a senior who has been accepted by an institution of higher study, and 2) to a senior who plans to earn an associate's degree, diploma or certificate at a trade or technical school or community college. Seniors must also meet the criteria outlined in the scholarship application form. Students may view the scholarship application form through the counseling resources of Mechanicsburg High School or by viewing the actual application form using the Scholarship Details link below. The application form can be downloaded, completed, and printed for submission.  Applications are due no later than April 15.
